An extensive indoor multi-purpose hall which provides for a range of sporting activities as well as providing air-conditioned space for gymnastics, aesthetic disciplines and theatrical productions; a full size stage is equipped with sound and light technology.

A fully grassed playing field (quite an achievement in the Middle East climate!) which is used as part of the play area every day.

A 20m shaded swimming pool which is equipped with  heaters  for the cooler seasons .

Tennis/netball courts which are used extensively as part of our PE programme.

Here at DESS we have a fully qualified Nurse on site during school hours. The Nurse oversees and implements any care needed for both children and staff. She will give basic first aid to children as well as caring for more complex medical needs and conditions. Our nurse also helps with the education of the school community on various health and hygiene issues. Information sheets and leaflets about various common illnesses and conditions are also available for parents to access and read.

There are other specialist rooms for Food Technology (our kitchen has been recently and extensively refurbished, courtesy of the PTA), Design Technology, French and a Learning Support Department.

DESS has a dedicated music room where Music is taught as a specialist subject. The school has a fine tradition of music and drama, with productions being staged annually by all year groups.

The school has a dedicated ICT suite. It is equipped with networked IBM computer workstations, as well as a number of specialist devices for monitoring and control. All classrooms have computers which are fully networked and provide internet access. Hardware and software to support our curriculum activities is constantly being upgraded and extended.
