School Cat

Tigs9MayWednesday 9th May 2012

Dear All
Dyb, dyb, dyb, dob dob dob  … I think I am going to join the Cub pack now.  I snuck in on a meeting in the Small Gym and was delighted that I could be in the centre of the circle during their meeting.  Do you know that dyb stands for ‘do your best’ and dob for ‘do our best’?  I so enjoy being the school cat, as there are so many activities that I manage to join, one of my favourite being library time.
Tigs9May1I joined the year 6 children recently, and was lucky enough to have a story read to me.  I must admit that I may have been a little too comfy, because I nodded off!  I awoke with a huge fright when I realised that I was alone in the enormous library.  Fortunately, not everyone had gone home, otherwise, I would have been locked in the library overnight, which would have been quite frightening, especially as I know the books are filled with goblins, wizards and wild animals!

You will be interested to know, that I have invented a new game!  Please do not try this at home, as it is only for cats, and can be dangerous for children.
This is how it works …
You hide away in a sports hold-all, keeping absolutely still.  You then slowly start to appear by putting one paw out at a time, and then WHAM, you jump up and scare everyone around you.   It is such fun!  I think I may perform this trick for the staff during ‘Hope and Homes week’, and collect money for the very worthwhile charity.

I am looking forward to all the wonderful activities during this summer term, so keep an eye on my blog to see what I get up to!

25-AprWelcome back to the final term!  I hope you had a lovely holiday, and that you are ready for the summer weather which is already on its way!
I had a quieter, less eventful holiday this time, as I needed to stay at school to supervise the cutting of the overgrown trees.  I am sure you have noticed that the roundabout and roadway are much brighter, as loads of the old top branches of the trees have been cut, to allow new fresh leaves to grow.
It was quite a scary task cutting down the trees, and I had to watch every step I took as branches fell to the ground around me.  The gardeners were very good, and shouted ‘TIMBER’ to give me ample warning to scoot out of their way.  I had so much fun underneath the branches that lay on the roadway – I looked for mice to chase, but was very disappointed that DESS doesn’t allow any into the school!  I did find a few geckos, and had great fun chasing them through the foliage and branches like a wild jungle animal stalking its prey!
The Security Staff became my best friends over the holiday, and I spent time sitting with them whenever I felt lonely.  They do a wonderful job looking after the school, and stay awake right through the night!  I could not do that, as I like to take catnaps from time to time.25-April
It was very exciting for me to see you all back on Sunday, and I have spent time playing with some of you in the quadrangle.    Please remember to say hello to me if you see me!   I sometimes hide away when I feel I need a little ‘me time’, and have found a perfect hiding place, that no one knows about.  Not even Mrs Murray with her camera can see me hiding amongst the trophies …. Shhhhh don’t tell any of the adults!
Keep an eye on my website page and remember to drink loads of water in this warm weather.

Wednesday 4th April 2012

Dear friends

Tigger-April5bI decided that being a camel was no fun at all, as camels are always on the go, and are beasts of burden, carrying people and goods.  It all seemed to be a lot of hard work, so I have spent the last two weeks being me!
Tigger-April5cBeing a school cat is far more fun.  I have climbed trees in your wonderful classroom gardens, and wandered in and out of classrooms to have a look at all the super work that you have produced.   I have also spent time with the librarians, and Mrs Hughes was kind enough to read a book to me.  I don’t know if you have read it, the title is ‘Scaredy Mouse’.   I thought it sounded like a great read, but was really upset when the mice tied the cat up in string and ate chocolate cake off the cat’s tummy!  Not a very good ending at all.
One place I did not venture into was the pool area!  A huge yellow coloured ‘thing’ has invaded the pool, and I am forever hearing shrieks coming from the children who dare enter the water.   It is far too frightening for a cat.   The Year 3 production ‘The Druid’s Tale’ was superb!  I loved the costumes and acting, and seeing the teachers all dressed up as well was great!  What a wonderful way to end off the term.
That is all from me until I see you after the break.   Don’t eat too many chocolates, and if you are travelling, remember to listen to your parents at all times and to keep safe and happy.

Tons of love

Dear All

The past two weeks have whizzed past in a blur!  You have all been so busy that it has been difficult keeping up with you.Tigger-camelThe Year 1 production of Dumble the Dinosaur was fantastic – did you see me hiding in the corner?  I had been lucky enough to witness the rehearsals, so I knew we were in for a treat.  The children are so talented, and the dancing really got my paw tapping!
The BSME team were missing from school last Wednesday, as they travelled to Dubai for the annual competition.  They must have done really well, because so many children wore medals around their necks on Sunday.   I think that Mr Wilkinson and his team of teachers must be very proud of them.
The excitement didn’t end there.   You had so many good ideas for Environment Day, with wonderful clothing, hats and accessories.  There is a super poster made out of coloured paper in the foyer.
Tigger-camel1My biggest highlight of the last two weeks has to be when I kissed a camel!  Yes, you read that correctly – I KISSED A CAMEL!    Two camels visited me on the field and Mrs Forde (from Preschool) was kind enough to lift me up so that I was at the same level as the huge beast.  It was so exciting.   I had been eyeing them out from a distance before I plucked up the courage to meet the friendly animals.  The Preschool children, and some of the teachers went for a ride around the school field – how enthralling!  I think that I might like to be a camel.
Phew, I feel like I need a break, but I know that the next few weeks will be filled with wonderful days which I would not like to miss.

With love from Tigs, the Camel.

Wednesday 7th March 2012

My dear friends,

It seems a long time since I wrote to you, and so much has happened over the last few weeks!
Just like many of you, I stayed in Doha over the half term break and spent time with my friends Matthew and Aidan.  They were so kind to me, and we had loads of fun.  Matthew spoils me, and lets me snuggle up and sleep on his bed!

PussbootsI decided to have an adventure during the holidays, and stepped out to explore the world!  I recently watched Shrek, and saw how brave Puss in Boots was, and as he is my hero, I decided that I should do the same.  That is a funny thing about cats, we like to be independent and sometimes wander off.

Well, it was on a dark, rainy, dismal day that I set off from my holiday home in West Bay.  I warily looked right and then left, and stepped off the curb for the start of a harrowing adventure.    Some of the neighbourhood cats were not friendly, so within the first twelve hours, I had fended off marauding strangers, and lost my collar.  I was very upset, but decided to continue on my quest.

sportsdayIt was not long before I met a tabby cat, who was great fun, and together we explored the area, gingerly treading on the soft, wet sand of the beach and finding shelter under a huge tree in one of the beautiful gardens.  We jumped and played and shivered because it was a very cold week!  We were also very hungry, and had to fend for ourselves which was no fun at all.  With a grumble in my empty tummy, I returned to Matthew and Aidan, and wolfed down a scrumptious meal which their kind mum made for me!  I think I caused them great worry, and I am sorry for that, but sometimes a cat has to be adventurous!

With my bags packed, I returned to school, and thought that I had landed in Fairytale Land!  You all looked superb in your costumes on World Book Day!  I even found a few mice in the Accounts Office.   As always, the excitement continued with a full week of Sports Days!  I loved the obstacle course, but because I do not have a house colour, I had to sit out.  I know loads of you saw me on the field as I received many kind pats and cuddles.

Until next time,
Adventure Tigs

Thursday 16th February 2012

Hello everyone,Tigger-16feb2

I have had a bit of an emotional roller-coaster these last two weeks, some days have been great, but I have also been a little sad at times.
The SEC Sport’s Day was fantastic fun!  Disco Dan was my favourite, and  I did manage to do some of his Tigger-feb16amazing moves.  Mighty McMahon was a little too scary for me, but I did venture in at one point, only to break the land speed record as I ran out of the Small Gym at full speed!  I looked like a cheetah I was so fast, and you all know that cheetah’s are the fastest cats on earth!  Body Building Blundell is one of my best friends at DESS, and I often visit him during lessons, which I think he likes, as he always talks to me.
There were loads of Year 6 children missing this week, and I was told that they are on the DESS Ski Trip in Switzerland.  That made me so sad, as I never get to do any of the fun things that you lucky children do.   I thought about leaving home, and ventured out into the big world outside of DESS, I was so sad.  I did return, and am glad I did, because the Year 4 production was amazing.  I thought about Pollyanna, and started playing the Glad Game, and soon realised that I have so many things to be thankful for.  Have you ever played the Glad Game when you are sad?  You should try it, it really makes one realise how fortunate we all are.
Well, it’s holiday time, and I am off to stay with friends.  I will report back in a few weeks, so keep your eye on my blog.   Stay safe and have loads of fun.
Love and kisses,
Tremendous Tigs

Thursday 2nd February 2012

Hello there fine friends,

Tigger-Feb2I overheard someone saying that I can be a really grumpy cat at times, so I have decided to change and am working very hard at being friendly to all of you and your parents.   Being a friendlyTigger-feb1 cat ALL the time is very hard work, so please forgive me if I sometimes forget.    Although I cannot speak, I will let you know if I am feeling a little grumpy, by swinging my tail from side to side.   That is how cats tell people that they would like to be left alone for a little while.

I spent time last week with the school photographers, as they are really super people!  I really enjoyed watching your ‘cool’ poses as you smiled for the camera.  I believe that these photos are going in the 2011/2012 Yearbook!  Did you know that I have my own page in the Yearbook?

We have had great success with our sports teams of late, and you can read all about what they are up to on the Sports Reports link on the website.  I think it is all the time that they put in practising that makes them so good!  I like keeping fit with a paper ball, and often chase one up and down the Admin corridor, trying to stay out of Mr Yeoman’s way, because he has huge feet and I would not like to be crushed!

Mr Wilkinson and some of the other teachers have been doing something very strange in the evenings on the field.  They dress up in ski-gear and practise their snow plough manoeuvres on the grassy knoll!  I think they must be getting ready for the DESS Year 6 Ski Trip – either that, or for the Winter Olympics.
Until next time,

Tigger

Thursday 19th January 2012

Hello everyone,

Brrr, haven’t these last two weeks been a little chilly?  I am so glad that I have a big furry coat to keep me warm!   It won’t be long before we are commenting on the warm weather, but in the meantime, I find all the sunny spots to nap in!
Tigger-Jan19My busiest time of the day is before you get in to school, as I do routine checks of all the corridors, making sure that everything is ready for when the huge school gates swing open and all you enthusiastic children rush in.  It is a lonely job, but I don’t mind, as I know that I will soon be joined by all my DESS friends.
We had very special friends at school this week – I wonder if you saw them?  Inspectors from the Supreme Education Council, together with Mr Yeoman and myself, walked through the school looking at all the fabulous facilities you use.   I ran ahead at one stage, to make sure that they saw some of my favourite places, like the ICT Suite, Music Room and Adventure Playground.  I didn’t go into the Swimming Pool with them, as I am not keen on water, and I was a little scared that they would ask me to check the temperature of the water.
As usual you have all been extremely busy, and I have enjoyed looking at some of the incredible DT projects you have created.  Our Rounders teams were amazing, and BOTH the A and B team won their competitions and received GOLD certificates.   I don’t know about you, but I am very impressed with that.
There is great excitement, as the pantomime Puss in Boots is soon to be on a stage near you!   I believe that some of the DESS teachers and children are stars in the show!  I wish that I had been chosen for the lead role, but I am not keen on wearing boots, so I guess it wasn’t right for me.

Be good, work hard and keep smiling,

Tigs (that’s short for Tigger)

Thursday 5th January 2012

Tigger-robinsonWelcome back to school and a happy New Year to all of you!   I have had such a wonderful adventure with the Robinson family!   My friends Matthew, Aidan and I really enjoyed the wonderful weather we had in Doha and even spent time on the beach.  I was really interested to see that they dug holes in the sand and hoped that there would be treasure underneath, but instead there was just salty water, which was a little disappointing.  The build up to Santa arriving was so exciting that I wore myself out, and sometimes curled up on Matthew's bed watching him play.  He thinks that I was sleeping, but I was really keeping an eye on him - he is so full of fun!   I also enjoyed just sitting with Aidan watching the tree - it was so pretty!

I hope that Santa brought you everything you wanted, because I was so, so excited when I received a HUGE gift of toys and treats.   I tried to stay up to watch out for Santa, and even hid under the tree, but I guess that I must have fallen asleep after all.  Matthew, Aidan and I had loads of fun playing with our new toys.

I found a new game, which kept Matthew's mum on her toes.   I can be quite sneaky, and I managed to sneak into the car twice, but only managed a short ride once!  I think it is my bell that gives my hiding place away, or maybe Matthew's mum is just very good at playing hide-and-go-seek!

Tigger-MatthewSo, as you can see I had a wonderful time and want to thank the Robinson's for their kindness.  Just like you, it is back to school for me and I am enjoying seeing you all again with your bright smiles and kind ways.  Keep an eye out for me as you go about your day, and keep up the good work, you DESS children make everyone so proud with all you do.

Until next time,

OXOXO  (that's hugs and kisses!)

Tigger

Thursday 14th December

Tigger-Dec1I have really enjoyed the last few weeks at school, with the excitement starting at the Festive Fair.  I had so much fun wandering in and out of the games and stalls, and saw so many of you doing the same!  I was a little scared of the ponies, so stayed well away from the grassy knoll, but I did sneak in to have a word with Santa.  I am hoping that some of the presents under the foyer tree are for me, as I have been really good this year.

It hasn't all been fun and parties, as I spent some time in the ICT suite.  I’d like to think I’m a wizard at computers but every time I strike the keyboard with my paw, Mrs Murray tells me not to!  Tigger-DecSometimes, I sneakily strut into the ICT suite to see what the children are doing, and find all the skills they are learning so interesting.  They use complicated tools on the Microsoft programs, repeating patterns and even explore amazing websites to create Powerpoint presentations.  One of my favourite experiences was when the Year 6 children were embedding their photos into a Teletubby cartoon background.  I still remember watching that on television when I was a lot younger!!!

I have also tried out for some of the school squads, getting up really early one morning to try out for the football team.  Miss McMahon said that there were so many talented young footballers, that I didn't manage to make the squad.  Nevermind, I will try again next year.

The end of term concert was a delight, and you all looked so wonderful in your Santa hats.  The choir and teachers sang beautifully, and everyone looked so happy.  You could see that you were all excited about the holidays!

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and that you come back refreshed, ready for the Spring term.  Remember to look out for my page, as I will be able to tell you what I did during my holiday.

Love from Santa Paws (It's not really Santa Paws, but me - Tigger)!    xxxx

Thursday 3rd November

This week saw the Parent Interviews and I must say that you were all extremely well behaved, while waiting for your parents to see your teachers.

A special thank you to the staff for their hard work!

I would like to send my cat regards to Mr Edgar, and would like to wish him a speedy recovery.Tigger-sunspot

Also this week, Year 5 held their 'Victorian Day'.  It was so interesting to see so many different clothes being worn by the children.  Mr Wilkinson really gave me a cat fright at the Victorian drill.  I wouldn't have liked to have been a cat in Victorian days, that's for sure.

I'm sure you are all looking forward to a well-earned rest.  Anyway, I have to go and get my cat casepacked because I am off on holiday too; I am the luckiest cat in Doha.

All that's left for me to say is, keep looking after one another and be kind.  Have a fantastic holiday and stay safe.

See you all when we come baack on Monday 14th November.

Lots of love and kisses,

Tigger x x x x

Thursday 6th October

Hello to all my friends at DESS.

Just wanted to keep you all updated, with a few things that I have been doing!

This week I have had the pleasure of watching the preschool children, during their play times… what fun they all have.

Also, yesterday I really enjoyed being a spectator at the pool area. It’s amazing what you can see through the circles in the walls.

This week saw the start of our ECAs and I’m sure you were all extremely pleased as everyone got their first choice. Hope you are all enjoying yourselves.

Tigger-week-4I have also had a few administration jobs to do in the office this week, and I have to tell you boys and girls it’s really thirsty work!

I hope all our year 6 students who are going on the first North Star trip next Sunday have an amazing time. I have actually cried a few pussy cat tears, as my request to attend the North Star Trip was declined. Mr Yeoman informed me that all the spaces have been filled!

Such a shame as I already had my sleeping bag ready, maybe next time.

Another exciting event taking place next week is… PIZZA day.

I’m sure you are all very excited about our pizza day next Thursday? I know I am and my pizza money was paid on the first day, that’s what you call an eager cat!

Tuna Pizza at the ready please!

All that’s left for me to say is, hope you all have a great weekend and see you all Sunday,

Tigger xxxxx

Thursday 22nd September 2011

A big cheery pussy cat hello to you all!

Well… what a busy week we have all had; so many things taking place both inside and outside the classrooms!

DESS has also had the boys’ and girls’ football trials, and I have been informed by Mr Wilkinson that you all did your very best and he was really impressed with the high standard and how well you all played!

Week-2-Tigger-bOn my rounds this week, I visited some of the lessons throughout the school, from what I saw I really enjoyed the learning that was taking place!

I was very fortunate to be invited to the ICT suite, and was so impressed with the work that was completed. Although, I have to say, it got a little bit too much for me and I needed to take a cat nap, while you all continued to work really hard.

Week-2-TiggerThis week, I have had the pleasure of looking at the fantastic displays that have gone up around our school.  I offered my services to Mrs Darwish, who was busy preparing the display board for Preschool.

What fun we had!

All that’s left for me to say is…

Hope you all have a well-deserved rest and a great weekend! See you all on Sunday morning.

Thursday 15th September 2011

Hello everyone and a big pussy cat welcome back!

I hope each and every one of you had an amazing holiday!

I was very fortunate that I had a fantastic holiday and was really well looked after by the Watson family and the Steingart family.

Thank you so much for taking such good care of me!

I did some swimming, sunbathing and really enjoyed relaxing!

I would just like to introduce myself to the new staff and children we have here at DESS! I am Tigger the school cat, and I hope that you have all settled here at DESS as quick as I did!

You may have seen me around the school in the last few days although I did not return from my holiday until 11th September.

Don’t be surprised if you see me very soon, I really enjoy the lessons that are taught here at DESS, and I always do my homework.

I am looking forward to P.E as you can see from my photo I have been really practicing my cat stroke to try and reduce my summer tummy!

We have some fun events happening in the coming weeks and I am really excited!

I just want to say that I hope that all the children here at DESS work as hard as they did last year, well even harder would be better and we all have another successful term.

So nice to be back with you all and I hope you all have a great weekend, see you all on Sunday.

Lots of Tigger cuddles xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thursday 7th July 2011

Hi to all my friends at DESS!

So here it is, the end of our summer term 2011! I can’t believe just how quickly it’s gone!

Well I’m sure you are all excited about your summer holiday, I am also going on my pussy cat vacation!

I have been very lucky, and I am in fact going on another twin Centre holiday. Firstly, I am staying in the “Watson household” and for the second part of my vacation I am staying with Robin Steingahs 1D, how purrrrrrfect is that, I am really looking forward to it, lots of cuddles for me I think!

I just want to say a pussy cat goodbye to all the staff and children who are leaving Doha and going on to pastures new. I want to wish you all the very best for the future and please don’t forget me!

I have been told that there are some new staff and children arriving after the summer holiday so I guess I am going to have some more friends, yipeeeeee (hope they bring me some treats)!

All that’s left for me to say to you all is, have a fantastic holiday, enjoy yourselves, but most importantly, stay safe. I want to see you all in September.

Lots of pussy cat love,

Tigger x x x x x x x x x

Thursday 30th June

A big Pussy cat hello to all my friends at DESS and a warm welcome back after our long weekend!

I hope you all had a well deserved rest like I did.

I enjoyed cat napping, sunbathing and keeping the security guards company (what really nice people they are).

Well, what a fantastic end to our term last week with the amazing production of “Flinn and The Pirates” from Reception. What a brilliant job! (I’m sure you will all agree).

The singing and dancing really made me proud to be part of your school. A special thank you to all the Reception staff, for all their hard work and for making the production possible!

Some of you may be aware that today is Fairy tale Day for Year 1 and I have seen some brilliant costumes worn by the children and staff!

They made me recall some of the Fairy tales I have seen in the books in the Library! Oh, I do love a good read.

Congratulations to all the children who had their reading tests this week. Another test done and dusted!

Just a reminder to get your orders in for the DESS Year Book, I have been very privileged to have my own page this year, I am so honored.

Could I give you a gentle reminder that all pussy cat food donations are still fondly accepted. You all know how I love my cat treats! (Not that I am too fussy, but I do prefer dry food).

Thank you so much in advance.

Well, I have an appointment with Miss Wilson. She has requested to see me in her office! I think she just wants to see my Fairy tale costume! Maybe she wants to borrow it?)

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend and see you all soon.

Lots of pussy cat kisses,

Tigger x x x x x

THURSDAY 5TH May

Hi to all my friends at DESS!

Just wanted to keep you all updated on what I have been up to!

Well, first of all I have to say how delighted I was to be asked to participate in the “Royal Wedding Celebration”, I had a purrrrrfect time and think you all did as well.

I hope you liked my little outfit that I had specially made here in Doha.

cats 003

I have to say that I was overwhelmed by the effort you all made with your hats and costumes and the sea of red white and blue was fantastic!

I would also like to thank Mr. Watson from the British Embassy, who has assured me that my “British Pet Passport” is on its way to DESS!

Looking at the decorations that were put up, those PTA ladies, really do work hard. I was lucky enough to have a reserved seat right under the picture of Wills and Kate in the reception area.

I hope you all enjoyed the day. I know I did!

I’m sure some of you may be aware, that this week our students have been sitting their NCTS and I know when I have been invigulating that they have all been working tremendously hard. So, a big well done to all the students, for all their hard work and effort.

I too have been doing some extra work; in fact, I have been attending some Read Write Inc sessions, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I was lucky enough to have a picture taken with the famous “Fred  Frog”.

cats 002

Please, could I just send you all a friendly pussy cat reminder that it is really starting to get warm and, like you, I may become a little agitated or grumpy because of the heat. So please try and understand that, if I run away from you, it’s not that I don’t want to say hello, it’s just that I may need to go and cool off and lie on the nice cold tiles in reception where I can feel the air-conditioning on my belly. I really do enjoy this. Unfortunately, I am not as lucky as you, as I am not able to cool off in swimming; my “cat stroke” is not very good at all!

Anyway, I have to go and prepare myself for the busy day ahead; I also have to collect all the names for Star of the Week. Good luck to you all.

All that’s left for me to say is hope you all have a fantastic weekend and I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday,

Lots of love,

Tigger xxxx

April 7 2011

A cheery pussy cat “Hello,” to all my friends at DESS!

Well, it’s been a purrrrfect end to a perfect term here at DESS. We have had the Year Three production, and what a fantastic job they did too. I’m sure you will all agree!

Today we had the Rounders match, which I have been really looking forward to! I have been practising this week, in the mornings, with my own Rounders ball. I already had my gym bag packed with my cat trainers and I was ready to go. I tried to recruit some of the compound cats to form a team. However, they were all either too podgy or too lazy to join in. One of the cats was busy sunbathing!

The excitement of the match was far too much for me anyway, so I stayed indoors, cooling myself on the cool foyer floor. I heard it was an awesome match. Did you enjoy it?

Oh what a good life I have here at DESS, I know I am the luckiest cat in Doha. That’s thanks to all of you humans here, who take the time to look after me and give me lots of cuddles (except when I’m sleeping). I am so grateful to you all.

I know how hard all the staff at DESS work and I just wanted to say I really hope you all have a well deserved break and enjoy the holiday.

I too will be going on my holiday. In fact, I am having a Twin Centre Holiday with at least two destinations in mind. This has yet to be finalised with my Pet Travel Agent.

I hope you all have a fabulous holiday. Stay safe and see you all soon.

Missing you all already!

Lots of love, Tigger xxxxxxxxx

March 31 2011

Hi to all my friends and staff at DESS! Just a little update on what I have been up to!

Well… I am still enjoying my early morning breakfasts, as they really set me up for the day and we all know how important it is to have breakfast don’t we?

I have also been given a new role in the office, assisting Vicky with the administration and filing that has to be done… she really does have a lot of jobs to get done in one day, in fact, I needed a little cat nap after all the hard work!

cat with vicki

A couple of mornings this week, I have been having a little snooze in the small Gym, I don’t think I was supposed to be in there but somehow I managed to get myself  locked in, whoops!

I have also been admiring your fantastic Environment day displays, and in fact, also find that they are a very comfortable place to have a little CAT NAP!

tigger environment

I had a magical pussy cat day yesterday, listening to all the beautiful singing by Year 3 and I have to say that all the staff and children have been working really hard to purrrrfect their performance!

I’m sure, you’ll agree, they are fantastic!

As you are probably aware, it was the BSME Games and our school; DESS did us all so proud and returned home true champions with lots of gold medals! So a big congratulations to all the children who took part!

I did in fact hope to attend the BSME games myself, by sneaking into the kit bags prepared by Mrs Murray, however I was caught! So, no such luck.

I would also like to thank you for some of the amazing treats you have bought for me. Please keep them coming as I was a little worried that my supply is running short, and as we all know, I don’t do diets…

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend and keep all the cuddles coming!

Lots of Love, Tigger xxxxx

February 2 2011

To the early risers at DESS, you will know that I already have a great daily schedule:

*6.30am: Breakfast time

*6.45: Meet and greet staff, children and parents at the entrance to DESS.

7am- 7.20am: Playground duties assisting Miss Wilson.

7.20am until the end of the school day: Making various appearances in lessons, just to check you are all working hard and I must say I am very impressed with what I have seen!

1pm: I often visit Gym Club where you might see me participating in summersaults and cat wheels. Mrs. Innes rewards me by showering me at the end of my activities.

6pm: I find a nice place to snuggle down and preen myself so I look immaculate for you all the next day.

I have been telling my pussy cat friends how lucky I am to have been given such a fantastic new home where so many people smile when they see me!

Please feel free to pet me. However, I do get a little scared when chased. I know it’s only because you are all excited to see me, but please remember I am only little.

During the past week I have been lucky enough to be allowed to attend etiquette lessons, gratefully arranged by Miss Wilson. I hope they will help me to settle into my new surroundings.

Anyway, I must go, people to see, places to visit.

Lots of hugs,

Tigger xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Children, just a little pussy cat request from a little animal… please don’t run when you are proceeding  to your next lessons as I would be upset if anyone fell over and of course I would probably miss my cuddle with Nurse Caroline (as she would have to make you better).

It must be because you are all so keen to get to your next lessons!

I am, so excited as I have been hearing some beautiful singing coming from the MPH, (it really is amazing how good it sounds, even from the outside).

I can’t wait for the production next week; you are all in for a real treat!

I have to mention all the children and staff involved in the production who have been working so hard to make this great! So a big thank you to all of you (especially for giving me such nice music to listen to)

Anyway, I have to go as I am on my way to listen to the rehearsal… the show must go on.

Lots of purrs and kisses,

Tigger xxxxxxx

A very, purry hello to all my friends at DESS.

Just wanted to keep you informed on some of the things I have been up to.

As some of you are well aware, I often pay a visit to nurse Caroline for a nice cuddle. However, this week I have also found a new place for me to relax, and that is in the main office. I have been made very welcome and love the great view I have!

I have to say, even with all the hustle and bustle and phones ringing frequently, I still manage to have a little snooze on a comfy chair.

I would like to thank all the people who voted for my new name and I am now officially known as “TIGGER” the school cat!

A big, pussy cat hello to all my new friends at DESS.

Just to let you all know that I have been on a day trip to the clinic for my vaccinations (just like some of you who may be having the flu vaccination). You may also have noticed that I had a little fur cut on my tummy, but not to worry as my fur will soon grow back!

I have also been to visit Mr Yeoman’s office. Although I have been asked not to go into class rooms, I really do enjoy your lessons but maybe you could help me by closing your doors and this just might take my temptation away!

I am really enjoying all the attention I get and I am available for any petting before Miss Wilson blows the whistle and at snack times.

A big thank you for my lovely food donations and please keep them coming as I really enjoy them.

Finally…… please look out for my new surroundings in the reception area!

It's really cool here, not only am I stroked, petted and fed everyday but I am also being given a name! I can't believe my luck. I hear on the moggyvine that the following names have been suggested by the school council: Lucy, Tammy, Tigger, Georgia, Cuff, Amelie, Pepper, Kelly, Gloria, Suzie, Dessy, Bananas.

Please vote next week and help me find the purrfect name.

Welcome to our new school cat. Although she doesn't have a name as yet, the School Council have been asked to co-ordinate the naming process. In the meantime, she is settling into school life.
